Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes live text for the weekend matchups via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six of the football calendar and following recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games were the amount of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus Denver, who play overseas this weekend.
However it was positive to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall before direct three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.
At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
New tight end Evan Engram has excelled big and recent running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows how Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in positive down and distances.
This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.
His assets include his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great composure under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.
If you constantly rush it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must defend the field vertically side to side. It can be draining.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and it seems the coach likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. He can really build something up how he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the success Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and build self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to be in their division. The key is to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.
Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.
This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
