The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of performers appearing on Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which reportedly raised a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of producers and composers. The single features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the more the merrier. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of property reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
