That Gory Cartoon Movie Conclusion That Haunts Audiences

Out of all the mature cartoon movies I have ever watched, nothing has stuck with me quite like the fear-filled conclusion of the explicitly bloody and highly provocative 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spain-based writer-director crafted a dark, somber and often savage universe with a few small , desolate twinges of hope.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from a drive to expand the medium further, the director stated that it was rather a try to communicate a universal, cross-cultural message about “the mutual source of each battle.”

That message is conveyed via a squad of brightly hued teddy bears , obviously modeled after a popular series of cuddly figures.

Maturing in a culture built around warmongering as well as the defense industry, many of these animals are obsessed with slaughtering the mythical beasts, thanks to a sacred text which states the bears they previously were kings of the forest, before these creatures drove them out.

A few have not completely bought into the brainwashing, and prefer to try out narcotics or mate in the forest.

Unlike their cuddly counterparts, these bright beings display genitals and clear urges.

For a particular especially vicious, cynical bear, the bear named Bluey, the battle against unicorns transforms into a route toward dominance — and specifically to dominance over his more tender, kinder brother Tubby.

Bluey is a bully , an obvious antisocial figure , and as fear dominates his unit and kills his comrades sequentially, he takes progressively power personally, in increasingly violent, harmful methods.

At the same time, the unicorns are enduring their own terror, through an expanding, deadly beast in their woods.

“In the early stages, it appears as a lighthearted film,” the filmmaker stated. “But then it turns into a more intense and sorrowful film. And by the end, it’s a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the most whimsical movies by an iconic animator, that discover a wicked pleasure in permitting drawn beings swear, engage in violence, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it turns into something more like a more grim film by that same creator, including ever more explicit brutality and a palpable connection to genuine horror of war.

In the finale, it becomes a full-on extreme drama carnage.

The terror which makes the film an ideal spooky-season viewing kicks in a lot earlier than one might expect.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the hardcore lovers of violence, for fans of graphic films who wish to view a film they have not viewed until now, and can endure a story that offers no restraint.

View it with the lights off free from interruptions, and the conclusion will burrow deep within you and linger.
