An Australian man who jumped across a fence and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and banned from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was sentenced to nine days in detention for causing a public disturbance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to news outlets.

The man shoved past photographers and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian debut for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in June this year.

The occurrence sparked outrage in Singapore, with several individuals claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The celebrity has discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the English city in spring of 2017 took the lives of 22 individuals and hurt numerous attendees.

During Wen's trial, the authorities learned he had made efforts to breach on the movie's debut on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a follow-up try to breach security. Event security stopped him and restrained him.

Wen later posted recordings thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Police detained him the following day and brought charges against him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The District Judge Christopher Goh was quoted by Channel News Asia as saying that the man sought attention, adding that he was incorrect to assume he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not addressed the situation.

The co-star mentioned the situation to the press, stating that she "simply desired to ensure my friend was protected."

"I believe he had no intention to us danger, but you never know with those things, and I aimed to make sure that she was alright. That was my initial reaction," she commented.
