Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
