Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.
My son told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
